Income tax return, business: questions
What is the presumptive scheme for a business?
A business can declare 6% of digital receipts (8% of cash) as income under section 44AD and skip detailed books, up to ₹2 crore turnover, or ₹3 crore when almost all receipts are digital. Your professional checks whether it beats keeping books.
When does a tax audit apply?
Above the presumptive limits, or if you declare less than the presumptive income in some cases, a tax audit under section 44AB can apply. Only a CA can sign it, so we find one for you through Find me a CA.
I am a freelancer or consultant, not a trader. Is this for me?
No. Professionals file the freelancers and professionals return (section 44ADA). This one is for businesses and traders selling goods or services.
