These terms govern your use of Claw Tax & Accounts (the “Service”), operated by Claw LegalTech Private Limited (CIN U63121GJ2024PTC152350), registered office 407, Pratibha-1, Opp. Gandhigram Station, Ashram Road, Ahmedabad, Gujarat 380009, India (“Claw”, “we”). By placing an order or creating an account you agree to them.
1. What Claw is, and is not
Claw is a technology company. It is not a firm of chartered accountants and does not practise as chartered accountants within the meaning of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949. Claw sells defined compliance services at fixed prices and has them carried out by independent professionals found, verified and engaged by Claw for your order (“Professionals”), who are engaged by Claw and are not Claw's employees.
Professionals prepare, sign and file work in their own name and under their own professional responsibility. Claw never signs, certifies or files any document on behalf of a Professional or as a chartered accountant.
Every order also has a Claw expert: a member of Claw's own staff who coordinates your order and explains it in plain words, such as which documents to send, where things stand and what happens next. Professional advice, preparation and signing are always by the Professional, and nothing a Claw expert tells you is advice from a chartered accountant.
Services that the law reserves for chartered accountants, such as statutory audits, tax audits and certificates, are not sold, priced or arranged by Claw. You may engage a chartered accountant of your choice for them directly and, if you wish, invite that person into a workspace on the Service.
2. Your order
- Each service page states what is included, the documents needed and the expected turnaround. The price shown at checkout includes GST.
- Government and statutory fees (for example stamp duty or registrar fees) are not part of our price. They are shown to you before filing and charged at cost.
- If your case turns out to need work outside the stated scope, you will be told the revised price before that work starts. You can decline it and receive a refund under our refund policy.
- A Professional is normally named on your order within 24 hours of payment, or 4 working hours with priority handling.
Discounted and standard prices
- Most services have two prices, both including GST. The discounted price applies to orders you place online after a free mobile check with a one-time code, and to existing customers. The standard price applies to orders placed through our team by phone, WhatsApp or in person, and is the price shown on the site before you verify. It is set at about 25% above the discounted price, rounded to the nearest rupee figure ending in 99.
- Both are real prices that we charge; the standard price is not a reference price created to show a discount. Verifying your number is free, does not commit you to buy anything, and does not create an account or a membership. Your account is created when you make your first purchase.
- The CA search for audits and certificates (₹499) and any priority handling add-on have a single price. Work that only a chartered accountant may sign is never priced by us.
- For some services the price depends on your profile (for example turnover, invoices or employees a month). You choose the profile before paying; the price for that profile is shown and charged, and your Professional sees the same answers. If the actual volume is materially higher for two periods in a row, we will propose a revised price for your approval before the next charge, and you may decline and cancel.
- When you buy several services together from your cart, each service becomes its own order with its own Professional, and the recurring ones are charged through a single e-mandate you authorise at checkout.
3. Your responsibilities
- Give complete and accurate information and documents, on time. Turnaround times and the deadline promise depend on this.
- Review every draft before you approve it. Nothing is filed until you approve it, and you remain responsible for the contents of your own returns and filings.
- Give the consents the law requires: for example the e-filing portal OTP to authorise filing, e-verification of your income tax return, or your digital signature on company forms.
- Share only what each service asks for. Where a filing needs your Aadhaar number, we use it only for that filing and keep it encrypted.
4. Representation before authorities
A company cannot represent you before tax authorities. Where a reply, appearance or appeal is needed, the Professional handling your order acts as your authorised representative under the applicable law (for income tax, section 288 of the Income-tax Act, 1961 and the corresponding provision of the Income-tax Act, 2025; for GST, section 116 of the CGST Act, 2017), or you submit the reply yourself with their help.
5. Recurring plans
- Some services can be bought as a recurring plan (monthly, quarterly or yearly). You choose this at checkout. It is never pre-selected.
- Plans are charged by e-mandate or card standing instruction set up through our payment partner, with additional authentication when the mandate is registered.
- We notify you at least 24 hours before each charge, and you can opt out of that charge from the notification.
- You can pause the next cycle or cancel the plan from your dashboard at any time, in as few steps as it took to start it. Cancellation stops future charges; cycles already paid for are completed.
Paying for a year up front
- Monthly and quarterly plans can be paid for 12 months in one payment, at the price of 10 months (two months free). It is never pre-selected.
- A yearly payment is a one-time payment. There is no e-mandate, and nothing renews automatically. We remind you 15 days before the year ends, and renewing needs your action.
- You can cancel a yearly plan at any time. If you cancel within 7 days of paying and before any work has started, you get a full refund. After that, we refund what you paid minus the months (or quarters) already used, each counted at the regular price of that period on a plan. The refund is never negative.
- A single filing of a service that normally runs as a plan (“just this once”) costs the standard price of one period, for every customer, because a one-off needs more setup than a period on a plan.
5A. Claw credits and referrals
- What credit is. Claw credit is a promotional discount that can be used only on services sold by Claw on this website. It is not money: it has no cash value, cannot be withdrawn, transferred, sold or exchanged, and earns no interest. Because it can be used only for Claw's own services, it is a closed-system promotional credit and not a prepaid payment instrument under the Reserve Bank of India's directions on prepaid payment instruments.
- Welcome credit. The first time a mobile number is verified on this website, ₹500 of credit is held against that number. It can be used only on monthly, quarterly or yearly plans (not on one-off services, bundles or the CA search), and it expires 60 days after it is added. One welcome credit per mobile number, and per PAN once you buy.
- Referrals. A customer can share a referral code. A friend who verifies their mobile with that code gets ₹200 of credit, usable on any order of ₹999 or more within 60 days. The customer who referred them gets ₹200 once the friend's first paid order is past its 7-day refund window. A code cannot be used on your own number, device or payment method, and up to 20 referrals a year are rewarded.
- Using credit. Credit comes off the price at checkout, up to 40% of each payment, soonest-expiring first, and you can switch it off for any payment. On a plan, credit applies to the payment it is used on, not to later payments. Credit held against a mobile number moves into your account when you first buy.
- GST and invoices. Credit is a discount given at the time of sale. Your invoice shows the price, the credit and the reduced value, and GST is charged on the reduced value.
- Refunds. If an order paid partly with credit is refunded, the money you paid goes back to the original payment method, and the credit goes back to your wallet with its original expiry date or 7 days from the refund, whichever is later.
- Expiry and misuse. Unused credit lapses on its expiry date and is not replaced. We may withhold or cancel credit obtained through duplicate numbers, self-referral or other misuse, and may change or end the credit programme for the future; credit already in your wallet stays usable until its expiry.
6. Deadline promise
If we miss the completion date agreed for your order, we refund the service fee for that order, on the conditions in our refund policy. [Owner decision: whether any interest or late fee caused solely by our delay is also reimbursed, and the cap.]
7. CA search for audits and certificates
Audits, certificates and other work reserved by law for chartered accountants are done and signed by a practising chartered accountant in their own name. Claw does not perform, price, sign or supervise that work. What Claw sells is a search: for the fee shown at checkout (₹499 including GST), Claw looks for chartered accountants suited to what you need and gives you a shortlist of up to three, normally within 72 hours.
- The search covers all practising chartered accountants, whether or not they are registered with Claw or work with Claw on any other service. Being registered with Claw gives a CA no preference.
- CAs are chosen only on your needs: the work, your city or PIN code, preferred language and the size of your business. Claw checks each shortlisted CA's membership and certificate of practice against ICAI records.
- No chartered accountant pays Claw to be found or shortlisted, and Claw pays no chartered accountant for being shortlisted or engaged. Claw takes no share of any fee you agree with a CA.
- You decide whether to engage any CA on the shortlist. The engagement, its terms and its fee are between you and the CA. Claw is not a party to it and is not responsible for the CA's work.
- If Claw cannot shortlist at least one suitable CA within 72 hours, the search fee is refunded in full.
7A. Calls booked from your dashboard
Signed-in customers can book two kinds of call from their dashboard. Both are booked for a fixed time in India Standard Time and confirmed by email with a calendar invite.
- Free call with the Claw tax team. Up to 20 minutes, to help you choose a service, understand its price and what to send. Each account may book up to two free calls per calendar month (India time); the count resets on the 1st. A free call is general guidance about our services, not professional advice on your case.
- Call with a verified chartered accountant. Up to 30 minutes, at the fixed price of ₹499 including GST, paid when you book. It is a consultation service sold by Claw and delivered by an independent chartered accountant whom Claw finds and verifies (see section 1), on the same model as our other services. The chartered accountant gives the advice in their own name and under their own professional responsibility.
- Moving or cancelling. You can move or cancel a call from your dashboard until 2 hours before it starts. If you cancel in time, a paid call is refunded in full to the original payment method and a free call is returned to that month's allowance. Calls cancelled later, or missed by you, are not refunded and count as used.
- If we don't turn up. If the expert does not join within 10 minutes of the start time, a paid call is refunded in full and a free call is returned to your allowance. You may instead ask us to rebook it at no cost.
- Refunds are started within 2 working days and usually reach you within 5–7 working days, depending on your bank.
8. Assistant and information on the site
Aashima, the chat assistant on the site, is an AI system. It helps you choose a service and does not give tax, legal or accounting advice. Notice explanations, calculators and guides are general information. Advice on your situation comes from the Professional on your order.
9. Liability
[To be drafted by counsel: limitation of liability to the fees paid for the relevant order, exclusions for losses caused by incomplete or inaccurate information supplied by you, and the position on government interest, fees and penalties.]
10. Complaints
Raise a ticket from your dashboard, or contact our Grievance Officer as set out on the grievance redressal page.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at [city] have jurisdiction, without affecting your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
