Legaltech marketing in India leans hard on phrases like "pan-India coverage" or "9,102 courts", and lawyers and legal operations teams have learned to be sceptical of both. The problem is not that the numbers are necessarily wrong. It is that they usually cannot be checked.

A round number tells you nothing

A figure like "9,102 courts" does not say which courts, does not say when it was counted, and does not say what "covers" even means for a given forum, whether that is case status, cause lists, or full party-name search. Two vendors can both claim "8,000+ courts" and mean very different things.

A directory is different from a claim

A named directory, dated and broken down by forum type, is a different kind of statement. You can pick any row and check it against the official source for that court or tribunal. That is the standard this page tries to meet.

04Where you can search by party name, and where you cannot

Coverage is not one thing. A forum can be "covered" for case status and cause lists without supporting full party-name search, and pretending otherwise is exactly the kind of inflated claim this page is trying to avoid.

Party-name search is available on: the Supreme Court, all 25 High Courts, district courts, RERA, consumer commissions, and 11 of the 13 tribunal systems, specifically NCLT, NCLAT, ITAT, GSTAT, CESTAT, CAT, CGIT, DRT, DRAT, SAT and APTEL.

Party-name search is not available on two tribunal systems: TDSAT and IRCMS. For these two, Claw tracks matters using other identifiers instead of the party’s name. • High Court data: mostly from 1990 onward.
• Scale: 1.5 billion+ case records and 30 crore+ judgments in the underlying corpus.
• Speed: results returned in under 5 seconds.

What this page will not do is invent a judgment count for any single court or tribunal. The brochure that this directory is drawn from states the aggregate figures above and the named forum counts in the breakdown table, and does not publish a per-court judgment count. Where a reader needs that level of detail for a specific forum, the honest answer is that per-court counts are published in the coverage directory itself, not estimated here.
