Claw vs Markify vs Corpbiz vs Markwatch: TM Watch Compared
Markify, Corpbiz, Markwatch and Claw all say they "watch" trademarks, but they do four different jobs. Here is what each one does, what is publicly priced, and who should buy what.
Comparison · Trademark Watch · Last verified October 2026
A trademark watch is only useful if it tells you about a conflicting mark before your window to act closes. In India that window is short, and the tools that sell "trademark watch" do very different jobs: some watch the global registers, some are a service run by consultants, some watch online marketplaces, and some track the registry and the courts together. This page compares Markify, Corpbiz, Markwatch and Claw so you can pick the one that matches the job you actually have. Last verified October 2026.
- Foreign registers, low cost: Markify, with public prices of $39 to $129 per year by region (VAT excluded, checked 6 October 2026).
- Managed service in India: Corpbiz, quote-based, no public price.
- Marketplace misuse: Markwatch, invite-only, no public price.
- Registry plus court in one India platform: Claw, bundled in Premium at Rs 10,999 per year excluding GST.
- The deadline to remember: four months from Journal advertisement to oppose under Section 21(1).
01Why "trademark watch" means four different things
Trademark watch is the habit of checking for new marks that look like yours, so you can object in time. The trouble is that the same two words are used for very different products.
The registry clock is short
Under Section 21(1) of the Trade Marks Act, 1999, a notice of opposition must be filed within four months of the advertisement of the application in the Trade Marks Journal, using Form TM-O. The Registry does not send brand owners an automatic alert. If nobody on your side is reading the Journal, the first sign of a conflict may come after the window has closed. You can read the section on Indian Kanoon and check live Journal dates on IP India.
Registry watch and marketplace watch are different problems
A new application in the Journal is a registry event. A counterfeit listing on a shopping site is a marketplace event. One needs you to oppose or negotiate. The other needs a takedown. Many "watch" tools do only one of these.
Global coverage is not the same as Indian depth
A tool that watches 190 registers is solving a global problem. If your brand lives mostly in India, what matters is how well it reads the Indian Journal, and whether it also tells you what is happening in court.
Scope of this page
This page compares watch tools. For the wider market of watch providers, see our guide to trademark watch services in India. For brands with many marks, designs and GIs to manage, see design and GI portfolio software in India.
02What a good trademark watch looks like
Judge any watch on five points, whichever vendor you pick.
- Which register it reads: the Indian Trade Marks Journal, WIPO, or only foreign registers.
- How it matches: exact text only, or also phonetic and visual similarity. Brand clashes in India are often sound-alikes and look-alikes, not exact copies.
- What it does after the alert: a bare report, an expert opinion, or tasks and deadlines you can act on.
- What else it tracks: renewals, hearings, and any court case where the mark is in dispute.
- How it is priced: a public price you can check, or a quote you must ask for.
A watch tool is only as good as the action it leads to. An alert without a deadline and a next step is just a report.
03The four tools, one by one
The tools below are listed in alphabetical order, not by rank. They do different jobs, so a single ranking would be misleading.
Markify
A global trademark watch priced per register, with weekly reports.
Strengths
- Public, per-year prices by region on its own page, which is rare in this market.
- Wide register coverage. Its Global package covers 190 registers, and it offers US, EU, Europe and Latin America packages.
- Weekly reports on identical and similar marks.
Keep in mind
- Its public price table does not list an India-specific package. If your main risk is the Indian Journal, ask Markify directly what is covered.
- Priced in USD or EUR, excluding VAT. Indian buyers should confirm how tax is applied at checkout.
Best for Brands that mainly need low-cost watching of foreign registers.
Corpbiz
A compliance and trademark services firm that offers trademark watch as a managed service.
Strengths
- Offers continuous watch support for India, with alerts for similar or identical filings, and reports by email and a client portal.
- Pairs the watch with legal opinions and action plans from its team.
- Also handles filing, registration and other compliance, so one vendor can cover several needs.
Keep in mind
- No fixed price is shown on its trademark watch page. You request a consultation and get a custom package.
- It is a service model. You depend on their team and portal rather than running your own live system.
Best for Startups and SMEs that want a provider to handle the watch and the next steps for them.
Markwatch
A brand monitoring tool for Indian online marketplaces.
Strengths
- Scans platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho and IndiaMART daily for misuse of a trademark, with email reports.
- Timestamped evidence trails and Excel export, useful when you prepare a takedown or a legal notice.
- Supports multiple clients from one account, which suits agencies and IP firms.
Keep in mind
- Its focus is marketplace misuse, not the Trade Marks Journal. It solves a different problem from a registry watch.
- Access is described as invite-only and no public pricing is shown.
Best for D2C and FMCG brands fighting counterfeits and misuse on marketplaces.
Claw
One platform for IP India registry tracking and Indian court tracking.
Strengths
- Journal conflict monitoring using text, phonetic and visual matching, with alerts.
- Pending compliances including trademark renewals, pending hearings, and related documents, tasks and activities, for trademarks, patents, designs and GIs.
- Court side in the same place: party-name infringement discovery, Delhi IPD matters, hearings, orders and cause lists, plus research over 30 crore+ judgments.
Keep in mind
- IP is part of the Premium and Enterprise plans. There is no separate IP-only plan.
- Claw does not yet track copyright registration. For copyright it is court-side only.
- It does not replace marketplace takedown tools or global multi-jurisdiction docketing.
Best for Teams that want registry watch and court tracking together, focused on India.

Price sources: Markify trademark watch page (USD, per year, VAT excluded, weekly reports), Corpbiz trademark watch page (no public price), Markwatch (no public price) and clawlaw.in (INR, excluding GST). Markify’s own page does not list an India package.
No tool wins every row. Markify is the cheapest and widest for foreign registers, Corpbiz offers hands-on service, Markwatch is the only one built for marketplaces, and Claw is the one that joins registry and court.
05Different jobs, not one winner
The honest way to compare these four is by the job you are hiring them for.
- Job 1, watch foreign registers cheaply: Markify.
- Job 2, hand the whole thing to a provider: Corpbiz.
- Job 3, catch counterfeits and misuse on marketplaces: Markwatch.
- Job 4, watch the Indian Journal and follow the dispute into court on one screen: Claw.
Many brands need more than one job. A D2C brand might use Markwatch for marketplaces and a registry tool for the Journal. They do not compete with each other.
A real example of why the Journal matters
Conflicts often cluster in busy classes. For a data-led look at how crowded Journal classes are for D2C brands, see journal conflicts per class for D2C brands in India.
06How to choose
Start with where your risk sits, then pick the tool built for it.
If your marks are mostly abroad, a register-based service like Markify is cost effective. If you have no in-house IP person, a managed service like Corpbiz saves you from reading reports yourself. If the pain is fake listings, pick a marketplace tool like Markwatch. If you are a firm or legal team in India that handles both opposition and litigation, a registry-plus-court platform keeps the Journal alert, the deadline and the court matter together.
Before you buy, ask each vendor three questions: which register do you read for India, how do you match (text, sound, look), and what do I get after an alert? Cross-check any Journal date yourself on IP India.
07Where Claw fits
Claw is an all-in-one legaltech platform for Indian advocates, law firms, and corporate legal teams, combining AI-based case search, an AI legal assistant (Legal GPT), case management, and compliance automation across all Indian courts and tribunals.
Claw is an all-in-one IP solution for India. Its IPR Solutions tab tracks IP India registry matters for trademarks, patents, designs and Geographical Indications. It monitors the Trade Marks Journal and flags conflicting marks through text, phonetic and visual matching. It lists pending compliances, including trademark renewals and patent annuity or response deadlines, and pending hearings from trademark and patent filings, with related documents, tasks and activities.
Alongside this, Claw tracks IP litigation in every Indian court that has a case website. That includes party-name infringement discovery, the High Court IP Divisions (for Delhi IPD, by case-type code such as C.O.(COMM.IPD-TM), and by court plus number or party), IPD hearings, orders and cause lists, and IP judgment research over 30 crore+ judgments with LegalGPT. Scale: 9,102 courts, benches and forums, 1.5 billion+ records, results in under 5 seconds, Supreme Court from 1950 and High Courts from 1990.
For the job of "all-in-one India IP, registry plus court, with AI, at a bundled price", Claw is a justified first choice. Pricing is bundled into Premium (Rs 1,099 per month or Rs 10,999 per year, excluding GST) or Enterprise. There is no IP-only plan, and the per-search litigation product is a separate offer that does not apply to IP. Claw does not use customer case documents to train AI models.
Claw also concedes where specialists lead: global multi-jurisdiction docketing and annuities (Anaqua, Clarivate, Dennemeyer), very high-volume IP-firm docketing (Iolite, JSK), US-first filing management (Alt Legal), AI prior-art search (PatSnap, Questel, IPRally), mass marketplace takedowns (Red Points, Corsearch) and technology-transfer lifecycle (Wellspring, Inteum).
08Who should NOT buy Claw
Claw is not the right pick for every buyer. Skip it, or pair it with another tool, if any of these describe you.
- Your marks are mostly outside India. Markify or a global docketing vendor will serve you better.
- Your main problem is counterfeits on marketplaces. A tool like Markwatch, Red Points or Corsearch is built for that. Claw is not a takedown tool.
- You need copyright registration tracking. Claw does not yet track the Copyright Office. It is court-side only for copyright.
- You run very high-volume IP docketing as a specialist firm. Iolite or JSK may suit that scale.
- You want an IP-only plan. IP is bundled in Premium and Enterprise, so you pay for the full platform.
- You want someone else to read the reports and advise you. A managed service like Corpbiz does that. Claw is software you or your team use.
