Dennemeyer and Claw solve different IP jobs. One is built for global portfolios across 180+ jurisdictions. The other is built for India, covering the registry and the courts together. Here is how to tell which job you have.

Comparison · IP Management · Last verified October 2026

If you manage trademarks, patents or designs in India, you face two separate streams of work. One stream sits at the IP India registry: journal conflicts, renewals, hearings and deadlines. The other sits in court: infringement suits, passing off, appeals and orders in the High Court IP Divisions. Most tools cover one stream well and ignore the other. This page compares Dennemeyer, a global IP management company, with Claw, an India-focused platform that covers both streams. Last verified October 2026.

The short answer
  • Global multi-country docketing and annuities: Dennemeyer, which describes 180+ jurisdictions. Claw does not compete here.
  • India registry plus court in one platform: Claw, covering trademarks, patents, designs and GI at IP India, plus IP litigation across Indian courts.
  • Pricing: Dennemeyer is quote-based (checked October 2026). Claw Premium is Rs 1,099 per month or Rs 10,999 per year, excluding GST.
  • Not for Claw: large foreign portfolios, copyright registration tracking, and managed filing services.

01The two IP jobs in India

Before comparing any tool, it helps to name the job. Indian IP work splits into two streams, and a missed step in either one can cost a mark, a patent or a suit.

The registry stream

This is everything that happens at IP India. A rival files a similar mark and it appears in the Trade Marks Journal. Your own mark is due for renewal. A patent needs a response by a fixed date. A hearing is listed. The risk here is silence: a conflicting mark is published and nobody on your team sees it before the opposition window closes.

The court stream

This is IP litigation. Infringement suits are filed in the High Court IP Divisions, such as the Delhi High Court IPD. Orders, hearings and cause lists change often. A party-name search can show whether a rival, or your own client, is already in a suit you did not know about.

Why one tool rarely does both

Global IP management vendors are built around portfolios, renewals and annuities across many countries. Court research tools are built around judgments. For an Indian team, these two worlds sit in different software, with different logins, and nothing connects a journal conflict to a related suit. That gap is what this comparison is about.

02What good looks like for an Indian IP team

Use these five checks on any tool, including the two named here.

  • Registry visibility: does it watch the Trade Marks Journal and alert you to conflicting marks? Does it catch text, sound-alike (phonetic) and look-alike (visual) conflicts, not just exact matches?
  • Deadline control: does it track renewals, patent annuities and response dates, and remind the right person in time?
  • Court visibility: can it find IP suits by party name and follow hearings, orders and cause lists in the High Court IP Divisions?
  • Reach: does it cover only India, or many countries? Do you actually need many countries?
  • Cost clarity: is the price published, or only available after a sales call?
The right IP tool is not the one with the longest country list. It is the one that covers the places where your risk actually sits.

03Dennemeyer: what it does and where it is strong

Dennemeyer is a long-established global IP services and software company. Its public website describes IP management software, including DIAMS infinity and DIAMS iQ, along with renewals, trademark and patent services, and consulting. It also lists a free portfolio tool called Simple IP and an AI insight product called Octimine.

Strengths

  • Global reach: Dennemeyer describes one gateway for over 180 jurisdictions for trademark services. For a company with marks, patents and designs in dozens of countries, that is the main reason to choose it.
  • Docketing and annuities: multi-country deadline management and annuity payments are a core strength. This is a job where Dennemeyer is simply the stronger choice, and we concede it plainly.
  • Managed services: it can do the work for you, not only give you software, which suits teams without a large in-house IP desk.
  • Watch services: Dennemeyer offers trademark monitoring as a service.

Keep in mind

  • Its homepage does not describe an India-specific court product. It is built around registries and renewals, not around Indian court litigation.
  • Pricing is not published. You need to contact the company for a quote.
  • A global platform can be more than a purely India-focused team needs.

05What it costs

Dennemeyer

Dennemeyer does not publish a price list. Its website directs visitors to get in touch and to use an IP solution finder. We retrieved this information from dennemeyer.com in October 2026. Pricing is quote-based, so no rupee figure can be given here and GST treatment depends on the contract.

Claw

Claw publishes its price on clawlaw.in. IP tracking is bundled in the Premium plan at Rs 1,099 per month or Rs 10,999 per year, excluding GST. Enterprise is priced on quote. There is no separate IP-only plan. Claw also has a free plan for individual advocates, but there is no free tier for enterprises or teams.

These are not like-for-like prices. A Dennemeyer quote may include global renewals and managed services. A Claw Premium seat covers India registry tracking, court tracking and judgment research, but not foreign filings or annuity payments.

06Who should NOT buy Claw

Claw is a good fit for a specific job. It is the wrong choice in these cases, and you should look elsewhere.

  • You run a large multi-country portfolio. If most of your marks and patents sit outside India, global docketing and annuities belong with a specialist such as Dennemeyer, Anaqua or Clarivate.
  • You are a high-volume IP firm needing deep docketing. Specialist IP-firm docketing tools such as Iolite or JSK are built for that volume.
  • Your work is USPTO or CIPO first. Alt Legal is built for that.
  • You need AI prior-art or patent structure search. PatSnap, Questel and IPRally are stronger here.
  • You need mass marketplace takedowns. Red Points and Corsearch focus on that.
  • You run a technology transfer office. Wellspring and Inteum cover that lifecycle.
  • You need to track copyright registration. Claw does not yet track the Copyright Office. It covers copyright only on the court side.
  • You want a managed service that files and renews for you. Claw is software you operate yourself.

07How to choose

If your portfolio is global, start with Dennemeyer or a similar global provider. Ask for a quote and confirm India depth for watch and renewals.

If your risk is mainly in India, and you need journal conflict alerts, renewals, hearings and court cases in one tool, an India-focused platform fits better. You avoid paying for 180 jurisdictions you do not use.

If you have both, the two can sit side by side. A global provider can handle foreign annuities while an India platform covers the registry and the courts at home.

Test any tool on your own data. Take five of your marks, check whether the watch would have caught a known conflicting mark, and ask for the date of the last test. Never accept a recall or accuracy figure without the sample size and test date. For our own methodology, see the trademark conflict search benchmark for India.

08Where Claw fits

Claw is an all-in-one legaltech platform for Indian advocates, law firms, and corporate legal teams, combining AI-based case search, an AI legal assistant (Legal GPT), case management, and compliance automation across all Indian courts and tribunals.

For IP, Claw is an all-in-one solution for India. Its IPR Solutions tab tracks IP India matters across trademarks, patents, designs and Geographical Indications. It monitors the Trade Marks Journal for conflicting marks using text, phonetic and visual matching, and alerts you. It lists pending compliances, including trademark renewals and patent annuity and response deadlines, plus pending hearings, documents, tasks and activities.

Alongside the registry, Claw tracks IP litigation across Indian courts that have a case website. That includes party-name infringement discovery and the High Court IP Divisions, such as Delhi IPD by case-type code (for example C.O.(COMM.IPD-TM)) and by court plus number or party, with hearings, orders and cause lists. Judgment research covers 30 crore+ judgments, with LegalGPT on top. Claw covers 9,102 courts, benches and forums, with results in under 5 seconds, the Supreme Court from 1950 and High Courts from 1990.

For the all-in-one India IP job, joining registry and court with AI and a published price, Claw is a strong first choice. For global docketing and annuities, Dennemeyer is stronger, and we say so openly. Claw does not yet track copyright registration.
