How to Search Court Cases in Coimbatore (District Court and High Court Bench)

Appeals go to the Madras High Court, not a Coimbatore bench

Tamil Nadu has a single High Court, the Madras High Court, with its principal seat at Chennai and a separate Madurai Bench that hears matters from a defined group of southern and central Tamil Nadu districts. Coimbatore is not among the districts assigned to the Madurai Bench, so writs, appeals, and revisions from Coimbatore go to the principal seat at Chennai. 03How to search a Coimbatore case on eCourts

The District and Sessions Court and the subordinate courts of Coimbatore are covered by the eCourts Services platform, both the national portal and the district-specific site. The steps are the same whether you search by name or by number.

1. Go to the Coimbatore District Court eCourts site (coimbatore.dcourts.gov.in) or the national eCourts Services portal, and open the Case Status section.

04Checking Madras High Court status for a Coimbatore matter

Once a Coimbatore matter reaches the High Court stage, whether as a writ petition, an appeal, or a revision, it is searched on the Madras High Court’s own case status system, not the district portal.

1. Go to the Madras High Court website (hcmadras.tn.gov.in) and open the case status page for the principal seat at Chennai, since Coimbatore matters fall under the principal seat and not the Madurai Bench.
2. Search by case number and year if you have it, or by the title, meaning the petitioner or respondent’s name, or by advocate name if you do not.
3. Review the result for the case stage, the bench it is listed before, the next posting date, and any interim orders passed.
